Turtle terrarium renovation

It seems that my 2 red-eared sliders has gone pretty big nowadays, the swimming area in the current setup of my 3ft tank doesn't seems adequate for them to swim freely.

So the other day got a chance to visit a shop called Exoreptiles, and got a nice discount for a large Exo-Terra Magnetic Floating Turtle Bank. Martin, the guy from exoreptiles was a friendly guy, and helped me to choose the appropriate size for my tank and my turtles. He'd even gave me a good discount for the item!

And so, it's time to renovate my turtle's tank.

The large size Exo-Terra Turtle Bank. 40.6 x 24.0 x 7.0 cm.

This is my previous setup, which i constructed the basking area from set of stones. It takes up half the tank for the stones, and very little basking area. Only one turtle can bask at a time. Pretty hard to clean too.

the Male one, i think my kids call him "Labu".

Female, i think her name is "Labi".

The floating bank, now in place. The size fits nicely on my 3 x 1.5ft tank. I have to re-arrange the filter hose as it doesn't fit to go through behind the turtle bank.

The pump still in it's original place, no more hidden behind the stones. Now is easier to clean, and more space for the turtles to swim!

Filling up the tank. I'm also testing the floating feature of the turtle bank, as it says that it follows the water level. Yes it does indeed. Good one exo-terra!

Now it fits for both of the turtles to have some quality basking time together, and definitely more space for them to swim, and most importantly easier for me to clean the tanks.

One of my 6" RES, in relative to the large-sized exo-terra turtle bank. I don't see any issues for them to climb on the floating bank. These RES are natural climbers. Only need to make sure the water level is high as possible, but not too high as the turtles may climb out of the tank.

By overall i'm quite satisfied with the product, given the size of my current turtles now. When they got bigger, i'd need to seek some bigger tank with some bigger basking areas. As for the time being, these are perfect for my terrarium. It looks good, and works even better.

The only thing that i can comment, is that, they should have a more powerful magnets, as bigger tanks may have thicker walls, and for my tank, these magnets just barely enough to get the turtle bank on its place. Also, i think it is better for exo-terra to have a mirror design of their current turtle bank, so we can have more options on which angle we want to put the floating banks.
