Android-based compact camera

Well, since i've got my kids an android device a few weeks ago, i've been browsing about androids a lot.

One of the interesting news about android that i've came up lately, is the Samsung Galaxy Camera.
Beforehand, i would like to remind you guys that this is not a review of the device.

Long gone the days in which cameras are bound the to the negative films and such. We've seen it evolved, from negative films, polaroids, digital cameras, and now the new dawn has arrived. A digital camera! - with an android operating system of course.

What makes it so different? One thing's for sure is that now your camera can crash during it's operational environment (haha just kidding). What makes it so different is that, now you can directly publish your high-res camera quality images directly to your social media stream. On top of that, there's a whole lot of potential  that we can explore just by hooking up the camera with a powerful processor and internet connectivity. Perhaps GPS and bluetooth can also be intergrated within the same compact camera shell.

Well, looking at it on a different perspective is that it's just like another tablet, equipped with compact camera hardware. Some of the new potential of the android-based compact camera would be (i said potential - and not the real specification of the device above!):

- you don't need large memory space as you can upload it directly to cloud-based services either via wifi or 3G or maybe even LTE if the hardware pemits.
- definitely with GPS enabled hardware you can geotag your pics, and you can view your album in map-based photo album
- panoramic views can be done via multiple cameras connected with each other by using bluetooth or wifi
- perhaps a picture based treasure hunting game can be developed by using the features of this camera

and whole lot other ideas came up to my mind, but i just don't have the time to spill it out.

Well anyway, sorry that this is not the review of the Galaxy Camera, it's just my thoughts of the potential possibilities that can be done with an android-based camera.

I think it's going to be released in Malaysia soon so let's just wait.

:)
