Completed: Jasin S2H Jamboree 29th April 2012

Another MTB jamboree. But this time around, i was a bit more prepared than last time.

The trail map, all 45km of em.

The Jasin Jamboree was quite a long one. For a total of about 45km, it's purely exhausting, and a hot one too. However, the organizer whom has been organizing the same jamboree for the past couple of years, has done such a great job, as it was enjoyable to every each one of the participants, all 2300 riders of them!

3 out of 4 HMSC riders

The jamboree starts at the new Jasin IPD. It was such a huge complex. Huge enough to cater 2300 riders, and spectators, with so much spare space to spent. The riders at the front line started to queue as early as 6.30am! Imagine where we at when we arrived at 7.30am. Frankly, our starting point were at about behind 1800 participants in front of us!

2000 (Two Thousand Only) participants on front of us!

Here we are, near the back of the flock.

My newly prepped 11kg bike. No more Rm50 bike this time around.

View from the front, 2300++ MTB riders.

Starting line.

Nevertheless, it was quite a good start. The starting were on pavement for about 4km or so. Then start with the offroad, the first hill was quite an easy climb. When it comes to the second hill, everyone's pushing their bike to the top. About 500metres of steep incline, with more than 2000 people sharing the same path, impossible to cycle up there.

Off for a great start.

Then came to the rest of the offroad tracks, consists of palm plantation, a little bit of rainforest, some grass fields, and more palm plantations. Each trail was properly marked. With 3 water stations, with the first one being a normal water station with bananas and mineral waters, the second one comes with a refreshing 100plus drinks. The third one was the most refreshing one, as it came with some juicy watermelons!

The offroad starts here.

Trails..

.. and more trails.

Well, about 2 hours and 40 mins later, we finally arrived at the finishing point. One of my colleague whom managed to start at the starting line, finishes at ranking #231. The three of us whom started at about behind 2k participants (at the back) managed to finish with myself ranking #814, and the two other riders from our team ranks at #1122 and #1286 respectively.

My Teammate finishes at ranking #1122.

Finisher's medal .. err.. acrylic.

Tired, but satisfied.

Swarm of bicycles.

The Machine.

Despite of none of us wins the enormous 300 lucky draw prizes, including the main lucky draw Cannondale Lefty woth RM10k, it was all a great cycling event. Can't wait for more MTB jamborees in the future and hopefully, we'll be lucky enough for some lucky draw prizes. Lol.
