Just thinking of sharing my thoughts on most of blogger's blog out there. I noticed that, mostly for female bloggers, really liked to put quite a lot of fancy things on their blogsite. Fancy in terms of falling snowflakes (java), crazy flash add-ons, menu-style flash links, floating pictures (java), and hell lot of fancy home-made mid quality graphics to their blogsite (which takes forever to load such uncompressed images).

Well, i know that browsers are getting more and more sophisticated, and internet links are getting faster and faster than ever, but hey, do remember that because of the evolving technology of today, people are not browsing your site only from computers anymore. People are accessing it through various types of gadgets nowadays, and most of the time from mobile connectivity.

So, putting these under considerations, your fancy blogsite wont be able to load on such mobile devices!. For example, fancy flash menus are not supported on IOS, and tedious Javascript snowflakes which most of you (especially girls) think is cute, normally would crash the browser on blackberry devices. Plus, those fancy add-ons are only nice to you only. Most people go into your blogsite not because of the fancy-ness of the site, but mostly because of it's content.

But anyway, those are just my thoughts when browsing for information from mobile. ;)

Post update

It's been quite a while since i'm posting something in here.

The reason being, is that, since before aidilfitri i was involved with minor crash with my bike.

To cut it short, i was enjoying a nice corner at Jln Duta heading to KL when suddenly an Iswara pushed me over to the siderails and i loose by grip on the roadside pebbles.

It costs me some great deal of pain on my palm and knees (hey whatdya know, i didn't wear any protection at all).. and i regret it so much. From now on, never ride a bike without gloves, ever!

So i just got my bike last week, and now i'm enjoying every single moment with it. I've been riding may older Si Tenang (Honda C70) from Klang to KL since last month and it wasn't a really great experience, apart from the amount of petrol it consumes.

Now, my naked machine is back, so expect further updates about it.

BTW, the insurance claim costs nearly 10k (RM9600.00) and everything is like new again.

Testing the blogger+ app

Hmm.. Just trying out the blogger+ app for my device. Kinda straightforward, but no draft autosave feature. Will try out some if its features again later.

Ipad2 video test in full hd

Just a sampling of the video. BTW, that's my cutie 1 year old daughter, nicknamed "BamBam".




The video looks kinda great. The good thing of it is the ability to publish directly from the app.
Well i guess that's the main purpose of Ipad2's rear camera, as taking still photos from the rear cam would be useless. Quality of the still photo is too blurry and too much noise.

Ordering iPad 2 online from Malaysia

Just thought of putting this up for those people who tried to find some infos on ordering the ipad2 online from Malaysia.

First of all, why do one need the iPad at the first place?
- if you are always on the run and needed to frequently check your emails
- if you are an IT engineer who needs to have access to online resources at any time
- if you have kids at home and would like them to learn the high tech way
- if you have friends who have been playing multiplayer games and you cannot join them because you don't have an iPad yet?

Awana Up hill comparo vid.

A friend of mine, is working on shifts. Unlike most of us, he does have a lot of time to spare in his home. Because of that, he made a comparison video of our previous ride, with another vid created by one of his friend.

So, basically, the video below is a different perspective view of Awana uphill. Literally, between a ZX6RR on the left (our friend Danny), and on the right hand side, Blade 650N (cambike, Alantris), ER6N (myself, nicknamed "Red") and a 250r (Napie) as appeared in the earlier vid.

Video and detailed comparison was created by Alantris himself.

Just thought of putting it here for the sake of archiving.

What do you do on Sundays?

Some sundays can be so much fun. Last sunday, i was glad to help a biker friend of mine to test out his new "bike-mounted" video camera. For the record, we have been trying to do "on-bike" recordings for ages now, and not many devices can actually fullfill our requirements. But this time, my friend probably has found it.

Here's the pic of how it is mounted. (mind the wire tape, that is just a prevention measure in case that the bracket fails!). 



And here's the video that we took during Awana Uphill last sunday. This vid is actually the 2nd part for the uphill ride. Cam is mounted in my friend's bike (Blade 650N), nicknamed Alantris. The vid starts to get really-really interesting at 2:40. Trust me, see it yourself. LOL.

Trying out vid for Bold 9780

Well, to test a video out, i need a subject matter, right? So there you go, a subject matter that doesn't stand still, with loud voice, and some great cuteness to have a look at.

Video quality are rather good, but it saves in 3gpp format. 13mb for a 1 minute video.

And btw, that kid is my son, the one who never stops talking. He's going to be 3years old this coming May 2011. Wow.. time really flies. :)

VDS saved my life

VDS, acronym for Vehicle Down Sensor, is a sensor normally found in bigger capacity fuel injection bikes. The ultimate reason for this sensor, is to send a signal to the bike's ECU, to shut down the engine whenever the bike is tilted at certain degrees (eg; crash position).

So how did this thing saved my life?

It was a sunny morning in KL, i was rushing to my office, trying to negotiate with heavy traffic condition along the way. At one point, the traffic was a deadlock. Tried with my patience and waited for the lock to clear, but after about 15 minutes, i found myself still in the exact same spot.

In front of me, was a big construction truck also trying to push it's way towards many of the construction sites within KL. After of about 5 minutes later, the traffic moved slightly, when i saw an opportunity. There was a bit of space, just big enough for me to squeeze in, to get pass the truck ahead of me. But to get through it, i have to squeeze in between the truck and a car behind it, pass through the left hand side of the truck, onto the broken walkway pavement.

So i took the chance, managed to squeeze between the truck and the car, going to the left side of the truck, onto the broken walkway, when my front was suddenly locked into small pothole. I loose my balance, and the 200kg bike is slowly tilted to the right side towards the rear tyre of the truck. I tried to hold, only managed to find myself resting my shoulders on the rear tyre of the truck, with my left hand still holding the clutch lever (i was still in 2nd gear) and my right hand trying to ease the throttle. Due to my awkward position of being stuck in between the tilted bike and the giant truck, i find myself unable to ease the throttle. The engine were still revving at 4k rpm and if i were to release the clutch lever, the bike will definitely jump over, and with such horsepower on the bike, it will definitely crush me and the bike itself below the truck!

So i was unable to release the clutch lever, and being to try to hold the bike, my right hand were unable to reach the ignition key, not even the engine stop button which is only a few centimeters away from my thumb. Given the traffic condition, only god knows when the truck will be moving, and being in the position where i stuck, i am definitely sure that the truck driver didn't realize that someone is stuck, and resting the shoulder on the rear tyre of his truck. If the truck moved, i would definitely go with it, and make my way in the next day's newspaper, or even prime time news.

Then i remembered this little thingy - VDS. It was supposed to shut down my engine when my bike is tilted. So i gathered my strength, with my right leg painfully stuck below the bike and holding it's weight at the same time, i lowered the bike, just enough for the VDS to be triggered. When the sensor triggered, and with the engine now being electronically shut, i can now release both of my hands, pull my leg from below the bike, and lay the bike to rest on the rear tyre of the truck. Quickly repositioned myself, and pull the heavy bike back to rubber side down, properly. Once the bike is back on it's rubbers, i pushed the bike to a safe distance, and took my time off for some breath (while checking of there were any scratches on the bike - luckily, there was none! should i thank to the rear tyre of the truck?).

So there it goes, how VDS saved my life. Once, i almost bypassed the VDS system when the sensor is faulty, and now i am truly glad that i didn't bypass the system. It was there for a reason, and i have found mine. It helped me to return home to my kids that day.

suddenly i remembered last week, exchanged bike with a fellow friend of mine for him to test on my front fork settings.

and so i got a chance to test his bike as well..

from there, got to know that some brakes, are actually made out of wood!

didn't get it? here's the dialog..

Me: Weh, the first minute aku ride moto ko, aku notice one thing..
Him: What?
Me: Sampai je simpang depan umah ko tu.. aku try tap brake dgn 2 fingers... damn! nothing happened!!
Him: Started to laugh tanpa belas kasihan
Me: Aku kene grip semua jari sepenuh ati aku, baru motor slowdown, and i was at,.. what.. 30km/h? Nyaris terlajak simpang dowhhh..
Him: Ha.. baru ko tau, brake aku tu kayu!!
Me: lol'd

If u still didn't get it, book your time to test ride his bike.. and u'll know!

And please do this before he got himself a set of six-pot brembo calipers and master pump, with hel steel braided lines!! (which i think, not in the next 10years in his biking career).

and btw, he's using a korean made bike rebadged to a local maufacturer's name. :)
